You may have recently seen on the news or in the papers the story of a young woman named Shelby, who has set herself the incredible challenge of working 21 different jobs before her 21st birthday. We’re proud to say that Shelby is one of our learners here at PLC.
Shelby, who attends our Selby campus through Tang Hall SMART, has already tried her hand at a wide variety of roles. From dog grooming to working as an activities coordinator in a care home, and even spending time at a distillery, she’s been embracing every opportunity to learn something new and build her confidence.
Since starting with Tang Hall SMART in September 2024, Shelby has been working towards her CAPA Level 2 qualification in Creative and Performing Arts, which she has now successfully achieved. She is now hoping to move on to a Supported Internship at the end of this academic year, an exciting next step in her journey.
Campus Coordinator Cherie said:
“We are so proud of Shelby and all that she’s achieved so far. She’s living proof that our learners can achieve anything they set their mind to.”
